The legal fight that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been a part of with Alexandra Davis has finally come to an end.

The 27-year-old Davis had alleged that Jones was actually her father and had been absent from her life, but a settlement has now been reached and the case is over.

The settlement was reached in a Texas court on Tuesday and that has abruptly halted proceedings.

The countersuit from Jones stemmed from a 2022 lawsuit that alleged that Alexandra was conceived during the mid-1990s amid a relationship between Jones and her mother, Cynthia Davis.

A happy outcome for all

The 81-year-old Jones was suing because of a supposed breach of contract of a settlement he had previously reached with Cynthia in 1998. That was two years after the birth of Alexandra.

Judge Robert W. Schroeder III said that all the cases for both sides of the dispute were dropped 'with prejudice'. Therefore, the litigation is dismissed permanently.

"I regret that it came to this, and I'm glad that it is resolved to everyone's satisfaction," Jones said after Tuesday's proceedings, according to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.

It was reported by WFAA Dallas that both Alexandra and Cynthia are happy with how the situation has come to a close.

Court records indicated that Jones had paid more than $3 million to Alexandra through trusts since her early childhood.

Jones had to alter some pland for the Cowboys because of the lawsuit. The Jerry Jones press conference was supposed to officially begin activities at their training camp, but it had to be pushed back until after the hearing.

Despite everything, the team's first practice is still on and will take place this Thursday, July 25.
