- Cleveland Browns. What many feared: Shedeur Sanders has put Kevin Stefanski's job at risk, Head Coach of the Cleveland Browns
- Cleveland Browns. Shedeur Sanders' biggest flaw exposed at Cleveland Browns OTAs while Dillon Gabriel "looks perfect"
One of the key storylines to watch during the Cleveland Browns' Organized Team Activities (OTAs) is the quarterback battle among four QBs vying for the starting role, with Shedeur Sanders as one of the main protagonists.
In this competitive landscape, the veteran quarterbacks were showcased individually, demonstrating why one of them should lead the offense.
Cameras focused on Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco
Initially, the Browns shared a video featuring Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders throwing to their receivers, but the angle was poor and didn't highlight either of the rookie QBs.
This wasn't the case for veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett, who starred in their own post, delivering perfect throws that underscored their intent to compete for the starting quarterback position. Their experience gives them an edge over the newcomers.
Many experts predict that Kenny Pickett will be chosen by head coach Kevin Stefanski to take on the starting QB role, though Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders are expected to get their chance to shine in the NFL at some point during the season.
On the other hand, some believe Joe Flacco could be the odd man out before the summer, a sentiment echoed by PFF's John Kosko, who ranked the former Ravens QB among the five worst quarterbacks in the league.
"As much as some Browns fans are excited about Joe Flacco's return, the reality is he's a 40-year-old stopgap," Kosko wrote. "He can still deliver competent play and keep the offense on schedule, but he's clearly a short-term solution until Shedeur Sanders or Dillon Gabriel is ready to take over."
It remains to be seen whether one of the veterans will rise to the occasion for a franchise aiming for prominence, or if Gabriel or Sanders will step up to change the trajectory of the Cleveland Browns.
