- Cleveland Browns. Shelomi, Shedeur Sanders' sister, defends him after a difficult few days in Cleveland
- Cleveland Browns. Dillon Gabriel already feels the pressure from Shedeur Sanders and makes explosive statement to media
It seems that Shedeur Sanders is determined to put all the controversy behind him and focus fully on his preparation with the Cleveland Browns. After a 2025 NFL Draft full of surprises, where his selection in the fifth round generated headlines and debate, the quarterback is showing a strong mentality and is certainly doing so at the Browns' minicamp.
Upon his arrival at the rookie minicamp, Sanders first watched the team practice and then participated in the workout wearing number 12, taking part in individual drills and group scrimmages such as 7-on-7 and 11-on-11.
He even spoke briefly with the press, leaving a very direct message for his critics.
"My job here is not to prove people wrong," Sanders said. "It's to prove I'm right."
Shedeur Sanders isn't thinking about the draft anymore; it's a clean slate
The Cleveland Browns' selection of Shedeur Sanders raised many questions among pundits and fans of the team, as it did not seem necessary to go for another quarterback after g Dillon Gabriel, but that was the decision they made, and the gamble could pay off big or backfire badly.
The question everyone around the Browns is asking is who will emerge at the position, a big challenge for the coach as his decision will shape the future of the team in the NFL season.
Sanders s a group of quarterbacks that includes Joe Flacco, Pickett, Watson, and Dillon Gabriel. The competition is fierce, but Shedeur himself doesn't seem to pay much attention to it, or rather, he seems to want to free himself from the pressure.
"In life and in everything, it's me against me," Shedeur said. "I can't control other decisions, so I just try to be the best version of myself."
"I told the players last night: We're evaluating everything you do on the ice, in the meeting room, in the gym. We want to see how you work. So this is a complete evaluation. It's not just a replay of rookie minicamp or a replay of team organized activities. It's all the work," Stefanski said of the process he's going through.
The truth is, he has a tough decision to make, but he shouldn't rush it. He has plenty of time, and rookie camp is certainly not the only factor to consider with other top options available to him.
