Robert Griffin III, the former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, is set to Fox Sports as the network's No. 2 college football analyst.

This move comes after his departure from ESPN last summer, where he was replaced by Louis Riddick in the network's college football coverage.

Griffin will team up with play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti in Fox's second-tier booth, succeeding Brock Huard, who recently stepped away from broadcasting to focus on family and coaching his son's high school football team.

Huard had been a part of Fox's college football coverage since 2019, calling games for the Big 12, Big Ten, and Pac-12 conferences alongside Joe Davis and Bruce Feldman.

Big change for Griffin

Griffin's transition to Fox Sports marks a significant shift in his broadcasting career. After his tenure at ESPN, where he contributed to both college football and NFL coverage, he spent the past year engaging in podcasting, social media commentary, and making appearances on Netflix's Christmas Day NFL studio show.

His dynamic presence and insightful analysis are expected to complement Benetti's play-by-play, enhancing Fox's college football broadcasts.

Fox's No. 1 crew, consisting of Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt, primarily covers games in the Big Ten and Big 12 conferences. With Griffin ing the No. 2 booth, it is anticipated that he and Benetti will focus on games in the Pac-12 region, providing comprehensive coverage of teams in that conference.

While Griffin may appear in studio from time to time the expectation is that he won't be a regular on debate shows on FS1, which he did frequently during his time on ESPN. Instead, he is largely expected to feature on Fox's game coverage.

Fans can look forward to Griffin's return to college football broadcasting this fall, as he brings his expertise and engaging style to Fox Sports' coverage for the season and beyond.
