- NCAA. Is Bill Belichick already creating a deficit at UNC? The university's latest action that has created controversy on campus
Bill Belichick's relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson has been a source of ongoing surprise. Since the legendary coach publicly revealed his romance, fans and media alike have been vocal in their opinions. Now, Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have found themselves wrapped up in the discussion.
Belichick, widely considered the greatest NFL coach of all time, boasts eight Super Bowl rings as undeniable proof of his discipline and talent. Late last year, his arrival in the NCAA as North Carolina's head coach was met with excitement among college football fans.
However, recent controversies surrounding his relationship with Hudson have begun to overshadow his storied career. One of the most talked-about issues stems from his involvement in a Dunkin' Donuts Super Bowl commercial-where Belichick was meant to be the centerpiece, but Hudson managed to insert herself into the footage.
How are Damon and Affleck connected to Hudson?
The seven-minute ad-shortened to two minutes for the Super Bowl-was produced by Artist Equity, a company co-founded by Affleck and Damon. Both actors, proud Massachusetts natives, have long ired Belichick.
During a conversation with Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, insider Pablo Torre revealed surprising details about the ad's behind-the-scenes negotiations. "Before filming, Hudson was negotiating directly with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. I've been reliably told they were absolutely flabbergasted that this was who they had to go through to get the guy they've revered for decades as the greatest coach of all time."
Torre, host of the podcast Pablo Torre Finds Out, said sources described Hudson as a "momager" figure for Belichick-a term often used, not too favorably, to describe celebrity mothers who double as their children's managers.
Affleck & Damon had no choice but to accept Hudson
According to Torre, Affleck and Damon were determined to feature Belichick in the ad, leaving them no choice but to negotiate with Hudson. Ultimately, when filming commenced, the coach didn't arrive solo-reports indicate Hudson maneuvered her way onto the screen, securing a role in the commercial.
From rumors of engagement to an unexpected appearance in the Super Bowl commercial, Hudson's influence on Belichick has become an unavoidable topic-and not always in a positive light.
