- Hunter. Travis Hunter shares his thoughts on Shedeur Sanders' NFL Prospects
- Hunter. Travis Hunter could become the face of the NFL but this is holding him back
Travis Hunter may be grabbing headlines in the NFL after being drafted No. 2 overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars, but it's his younger brother, Trayvis Hunter, who's beginning to make noise on the high school gridiron. The Effingham County High School standout showed why he's a name to watch in the 2027 recruiting class after hauling in three jaw-dropping touchdowns during his spring football game on May 16.
Trayvis, currently rated a three-star wide receiver, dazzled with elite footwork and difficult catches-despite being undersized at 5-foot-7 and 140 pounds.
While spring games may be viewed as glorified scrimmages, Trayvis' highlight reel proved he has the raw talent and football IQ to rise beyond his current ranking as the No. 59 wide receiver nationally and No. 50 prospect in Georgia.
Each of his touchdowns showcased not only his athleticism but also his deep understanding of the game.
From Heisman hype to high school heroics, the Hunter family keeps rising
If there's one person who deserves just as much praise as the Hunter brothers, it's their mother, Ferrante Edmonds.
A single mom raising two sons with divergent but equally demanding football journeys, Ferrante has remained a constant source of strength and inspiration. In the lead-up to Trayvis' spring performance, she was seen braving the Georgia heat, documenting her younger son's big day on Instagram Live.
"He got a scrimmage, a spring game. It's kicking off," she said with pride. "Once he start the trend is going to be starting soon."
Ferrante's dedication comes amid significant personal challenges. She's raising Trayvis on her own following the legal troubles of her husband, Travis Hunter Sr., who served jail time and is currently on probation for gun and drug-related charges.
"Well, the summer I'm expected to be booked and busy...I'm expecting to see what is all out there for a mom of an NFL player to see if there's any more community service of things I can do for my community. Not just my community here but also my community back at home in Florida," she noted.
