Paige Bueckers is becoming as well-known for her off-court visibility as she is for her on-court magic. The Connecticut Huskies guard is still a year away from ing the pro ranks, but she is setting herself up for the future already with a slew of sponsorship deals centered on her NIL rights.
Bueckers' name, image, and likeness have become very valuable -- and the projected top overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft has blazed a trail for NCAA basketball players with a host of connections and a well-rounded portfolio that grew one brand larger this week.
Paige goes pink
Bueckers on Wednesday was announced as a long-term ambassador and "impact adviser" for the beauty brand Madison Reed. Company CEO Amy Errett is a UConn graduate, and she also signed up fellow Huskies star Azzi Fudd as a fellow ambassador and adviser for the brand -- an agreement that contains some unique perks.
Bueckers, Fudd, forward Ice Brady, and guard Morgan Cheli have agreed to wear Madison Reed products in their hair for the duration of the agreement -- and they've gotten a head start. In images that Bueckers shared on Instagram, the former National Player of the Year dyed her hair completely pick while rocking a custom-made "Madison Reed" basketball jersey.
The ambassadorial duties for Bueckers and the three other Huskies is one part of a larger deal struck between UConn and Madison Reed. That agreement also includes court-naming rights to the Huskies' home court at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion -- which Bueckers will call "home" one more time in 2024/25. The naming rights mean that Madison Reed is the first female-founded and grad-operated brand in the NCAA to have such a distinction.
