- There can only be one: Phillies, Dodgers, Yankees... the favorite teams to win MLB

The Los Angeles Dodgers are getting ready to seal the National League Wester Division once more, as they have a somewhat comfortable lead over the San Diego Padres and the Arizona Diamondbacks, however they have something in mind that could helped them seal the race for the pennant.
While it was pretty clear that coming off an elbow surgery Shohei Ohtani would not pitch in 2024, now the team is at least entertaining the idea that he could do it in the postseason.
Dodgers' manager, Dave Roberts did not rule out that idea, but he is also aware that it must be thought out very well and everything will depend on how the Japanese star feels towards the end of the season in with that decision.
The idea is very well based
That is the big question hanging over the Los Angeles is that the team is decimated by injuries when it comes to their pitching staff. While Shohei Ohtani is in the final stage of his rehabilitation process, there is still things to be determined for him to jump on the mound.
"I think you always have to leave a margin, a little crack in the door for any possibility," Roberts said during an interview this Friday on SiriusXM MLB Network Radio. "If things line up and there is a need, and the game, (Ohtani's) body, and everything else tells us that it makes sense in that situation, great. It would be like something out of a story."
In that sense, Roberts added that it would be "unfair" to presume that Ohtani will definitely be able to return as a pitcher in the postseason, but the mere possibility provides encouragement for the team's fans. Of course, everybody has been waiting for the moment he pitches in a Dodgers uniform, everyone has to wait for now.
