Shohei Ohtani has been the most significant g during the offseason and the Los Angeles Dodgers were definitely the winners.
On Sunday, Ohtani put on a show as usual. He got his first multihomer game and four-hit game since ing the organization and because he is used to doing it like no one other, he did it in style.
Ohtanis hit his second home run of the day versus the Atlanta Braves was an absolute no doubter as it traveled 464 feet out off Dodger Stadium to secure the 5 to 1 win.
Statcast said it had an exit velocity of 110.6 mph and it had everyone in attendance amazed. This home run was the longest for Shohei this season and the second longest in the Majors in 2024 only behind his former teammate with the Angels, Mike Trout, who had a 473-foot dinger.
Ohtani went 4-4 and he is now 11-21 with three home runs during his current five-game hitting streak. If this was not enough, he also became the first players in the Dodgers organization since at least 1901 to record 25 extra-base hits in his first 35 games with the franchise.
Shohei Ohtanis record setting deal is worth it
Shohei Ohtani signed an historic $700 million contract that at least until now, it has proven to be worth it, even if he has not pitched as a member of the Dodger organization.
Ohtani can only become even more legendary next year if he can return to his pitching form in 2025, because surely the Dodgers fans are expecting the same results on the mount that in the batter's box.
