The Department of Government Efficiency and Social Security istration continue to clash over Elon Musk's plans to cut funding to Social Security in a bid to reduce federal expenditures, now could Social Security offices close too?
Musk, who heads DOGE, insists there is rampant fraud within the SSA and points to millions of people listed on Social Security who have lived will beyond the typical human lifespan as evidence of a scam.
Now looking to head into the SSA to begin to figure out where he can try to make savings for Donald Trump's government in their claimed war against bureaucracy, relations between DOGE and the SSA are at breaking point.
In fact, it's even in the judicial system as DOGE and Musk just suffered a defeat by being told they cannot access sensitive data as the newly established Department continues to operate with little regulation in what the SSA describes as a "fishing expedition".
Thus, the South African's presence and role of DOGE is causing a lot of uncertainty about the future of Social Security despite Trump promising to protect the program throughout his campaign.

"From time to time, SSA must temporarily close a local field office for reasons such as weather, damage, or facilities issues, and it reopens when the issues are resolved.
