Meghan Markle has once again captured public attention with a simple yet touching act of kindness. During a recent commercial flight on American Airlines, the Duchess of Sussex surprised the cabin crew with a handwritten note expressing her gratitude for their service.
The gesture quickly went viral after flight attendant Nina Vida shared the experience on TikTok, describing Meghan as "so sweet" and "so beautiful in person."
According to Vida, the crew had left a note for Meghan, to which she responded with a message written on a napkin. The note conveyed her appreciation for the crew's hospitality and affection.
Vida also noted Meghan's elegant handwriting and recounted a lighthearted moment when the Duchess complimented her nails, humorously overriding a previous critique from the flight captain.
A pattern of personal gestures
This is not the first time Meghan has made headlines for her handwritten notes. In March, she sent a personal message to podcaster Amanda Hirsch, who had expressed concern about potential backlash for Meghan's Netflix series, "With Love, Meghan." The Duchess reassured Hirsch, encouraging her to enjoy the process.
Meghan's penchant for handwritten correspondence harks back to her days before royalty, when she worked as a freelance calligrapher. She has often spoken about the significance of personal notes, once stating on her former lifestyle blog, The Tig, that "handwritten notes are a lost art form."
Since relaunching her Instagram in January 2025, Meghan has offered fans glimpses into her life in Montecito with Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Her recent endeavors include launching the "As Ever" lifestyle brand, debuting a Netflix show, and releasing her podcast, "Confessions of a Female Founder."
