Prince Harry speaks out on divorce rumors with Meghan Markle: I'm sorry...

Prince Harry has put to rest recent rumors about marital troubles between himself and Meghan Markle. Harry addressed speculation that their relationship is on the rocks, dispelling the gossip with humor and thoughtful insights.

The rumors began circulating when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen attending separate professional engagements-a move some dubbed a "professional separation."

Markle remained in California for the Paley Honors gala while Harry attended the DealBook Summit, sparking curiosity about their independent appearances.

During the conversation with NYT columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin, Harry humorously dismissed the divorce rumors. When Sorkin noted the media's obsession with their personal lives, Harry interjected with a quip.

"Because you invited me, you should have known!" he joked.

"Apparently, we've bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?"

Harry further poked fun at the situation, showing sympathy for those rooting for their split.

"The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls," he said.

"Their hopes are just built and built, and it's like, 'Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,' and then it doesn't happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do."

Reflections on media intrusion

Harry also used the platform to reflect on his complex relationship with the press, shaped by his experiences growing up in the public eye. He spoke about the impact of media scrutiny on his late mother, Princess Diana, and how it has influenced his perspective on the press and its narratives.

"I've had a lived experience since I was a kid," he said.

"I've seen stories written about myself that aren't exactly based on reality. I've seen stories about of my family, friends, strangers, all sorts of people. ... When you grow up within that environment, you do find yourself questioning the validity of the information."
