- UK News. Prince Harry has another serious problem: Donald Trump's victory may drive him out of the US
- UK News. Donald Trump's strong message to the UK after winning election
The successful election victory of Donald Trump and the Republicans poses a lot of concern for millions of citizens within the United States, but why could Prince Harry also be worried following the defeat for Kamala Harris?
The Duke of Sussex scored a huge win in October when a US court ruled he has the right to privacy regarding his visa application form following claims he lied about his consumption of Class A drugs.
If he was found to have abused the serious substances, or lied, then his application could have been tossed into the bin and he could have been denied the right to remain in the nation going forwards, thrusting his family with Meghan Markle into doubt.
Yet months after that victory, he could find the case re-opened and it's not good news either since it's Trump who wondered if he had lied, using it to fuel part of his successful campaign to win the White House.
So as a result, the Director of The Heritage Foundation's Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom argued there is a "strong possibility" that the case could be reopened by the federal government in 2025.
"I do think there's a strong possibility that this could happen. It's the president's prerogative,' Nile Gardiner said to the Daily Mail. "Also the new Homeland Security Secretary could order a review of Harry's immigration application.
"There are multiple things that could happen but it would be in the best interests of the American people if the Trump istration releases Prince Harry's records for public scrutiny and Harry should be held to ."
Why could Trump reopen the case?
Whilst the Duke isn't actually a danger to American citizens, the decision from Trump would be a politically-motivated one that would allow him to score a major blow against one of the symbols of the United Kingdom.
And as he recently itted his lack of fondness to Kier Starmer, the UK's Prime Minister, whom he described as "very left-wing", so it could be deployed as a statement to the nation that the USA won its independence from 250 years ago.
