Oprah Winfrey is currently promoting her new movie "The Color Purple" on the daytime show circuit, however, she did not appear on the legendary The View hosted by Whoopi Golberg, Joy Behar, and Meredith Vieira who met with the cast on the show that aired on December 13.
Oprah Wifrey did not attend The View due to a conflict of schedule
According to ABC, Oprah was expected to Fantasia Barrino, Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, and director Blitz Bazawule on the show, however, did not appear.
Oprah went to Gayle King's CBS Mornings, The Drew Barrymore Show, and Sherri Shepherd's Sherri to speak about her production endeavors in the movie while in NYC to promote the film which is why many believe that there was a reason for her neglect "The View".
Ms. Winfrey did not participate in with the cast, and was unable to be in New York when this segment was filmed right after Thanksgiving. She is overjoyed to see the cast have their moment.
Perez Hilton did some digging and according to the celebrity site, an insider from the show "The View' is pissed that Oprah avoided 'The View." it seems that it is just people trying to stir things up in TV Land, as the show hosts and Oprah are in good , even Whoppi and her starred in the 80s version of the Alice Walker movie adaptation.
An insider cleared the air about what was the reason that Oprah did not appear on The View, it seems that the show was "taped on Nov. 27 when [Oprah] wasn't available." while Whoopi "had an incredible moment with the cast during the segment,"
"Everyone was thrilled with what aired... It was a very emotional day for Whoopi. It was a wonderful moment." the insider added.
A person from Oprah's production company Harpo also spoke on the matter "As one of the producers, there have been appearances Ms. Winfrey did not participate in with the cast, and was unable to be in New York when this segment was filmed right after Thanksgiving. She is overjoyed to see the cast have their moment."
