Jennifer Lopez, the host of the American Music Awards (AMAs), was left with a painful injury following a mishap during rehearsals ahead of May 26's night at the BleauLive Theater in Las Vegas.

Sharing the details of her accident with fans through her Instagram Stories, the posted photos documenting the aftermath of a serious injury she sustained, showing off a noticeable cut across the bridge of her nose, which appeared to be quite painful.

"So...this happened," Lopez wrote online on May 13, seeming as though she's taken the accident in her stride despite it occurring just under two weeks before the big night at the AMAs.

In another Instagram Story, the singer and actress showed herself icing the injury and reassured her followers that she was recovering well. The 55-year-old also shared that Dr. Diamond had treated her injury.

"A week later and a whole lotta ice and I'm good as new," Lopez quipped in a much-desired update for her adoring fans, who have followed her music, modelling and acting career.

The 2024 American Music Awards will be a significant occasion for the mom-of-two, marking her return to the stage as host for the first time in nearly a decade; last hosting the ceremony in 2015.

Lopez's return to the AMAs stage was officially announced on April 9, with Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions, praising her unique talent and energy as well as her "incomparable stage presence."

The hosting gig is a full-circle moment for the star, who first performed at the AMAs in 2001 and won the Favorite Latin Artist Award in 2011, completing her rise from aspiring artist to dominant global icon.

With the AMAs just around the corner, Lopez seems ready to take on the challenge despite her recent injury and her recent split from Ben Affleck, which is now approaching the "one year on" moment.

The event will air live on Monday, May 26, at 20:00 ET/17:00 PT on CBS and Paramount+, and with the iconic performer at the helm, Fans can expect a spectacular show, as the multi-talented performer shows the world that even with a setback, she's ready to shine.

She also posted intimate moments with her 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, and her mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez; further emphasizing her close-knit family ties, something she values highly.
