Beyoncé, one of the most iconic music superstars in the world, kicked off her "Cowboy Carter Tour" on Monday night at SoFi Stadium (Inglewood, California).
The incredible set included live debuts for her country album "Cowboy Carter", cameos from her daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter.
Thousands of fans sang along to smashing hits such as "Formation", "Freedom", "Texas Hold 'Em", "Crazy in Love", "16 carriages", and many more. At one time during the show, Beyoncé was presented as a Wild West outlaw overcoming alienation and outsiderdom to assert her claim on the territory.
Beyoncé flies on a car through a stadium
One of the most mind-blowing moments of the concert was when Beyoncé performed "16 Carriages". The Houston native can be seen sitting in a red convertible, while holding on to an American flag. As the singer is performing, the vehicle is seen to be slowly flying over the crowd at SoFi Stadium.
Her fans loved the images, praising the former Destiny's Child for doing tour visuals like nobody else. "Quite fascinating! She'll always be the queen fo stage performance! Lovely," posted an X . "Some African pastors will copy this when the time comes," added another person.
"On opening night of her "Cowboy Carter" world tour at the four-year-old SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, she brings forth a sweeping, theatrical spectacle that reclaims country music, reframes American identity and reminds everyone who's still driving pop's evolution after all these years," wrote The Guardian deputy sport editor Bryan Armen Graham.
Beyoncé's daughter steals the spotlight
As the beat for "Protector" dropped, Beyoncé wasn't alone. She called on her daughters to elevate the moment, and they delivered. While fans are used to Blue Ivy stealing the spotlight with her sharp choreography and effortless poise (and yes, she still had the crowd in the palm of her hand), this time, the real surprise came when seven-year-old Rumi Carter made her on-stage debut.
Rumi ed her mother and older sister mid-performance, glowing in a gold mini dress and matching cowboy boots. Beyoncé, Blue Ivy, and Rumi lit up the stage like a holy trinity of feminine force-Bey and Blue in sparkling, checkered Burberry fits, and Rumi stepping out like the heir to the throne she's been quietly watching from the wings.
It all unfolded during "Protector," a track already laced with maternal devotion-and yes, that's Rumi's voice you hear at the beginning of the song asking, "Mom, can I hear the lullaby? Please?"
