Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson won't face any criminal charges over the August mic-throwing incident that hospitalized Power 106 radio host Bryhana Monegain, though the case will remain open for a year, and could come back to haunt the rapper if he misbehaves.
Jackson, 48, was seemingly upset that his microphone was not working during the August 30 performance when he launched it into the crowd and struck Monegain, who filed a police report.
The Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, which received the case from the L.A. County D.A., will not file criminal charges against Jackson.
Monegain was left with a huge dent on her forehead and several other gashes from going down to the ground upon gettinig struck.
50 Cent avoids all responsibility
Scott Leemon, Jackson's lawyer, said a day after the concert that the rapper would never intentionally strike anyone, though 50 Cent reportedly threw two microphones, a clear disregard for others around him.
"Let's be very clear, as I told LAPD this afternoon, my client Curtis (AKA 50 Cent) would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone," Leemon stated. "Anyone saying something different doesn't have all the facts and is misinformed."
Even though 50 Cent's camp claims Monegain was not supposed to be standing in the restricted area, there is no excuse for what was done to her, especially after looking to avoid all responsibility.
