Hollywood stars continue to bet on SailGP, the Formula 1 of the sea with flying catamarans that reach more than 100 kilometers per hour. If less than 10 days ago we learned that actress Anne Hathaway was investing in the Italian team, today it has been announced that actors Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are becoming co-owners of the Australian team, winner of the first three seasons.
They also other illustrious names such as former F1 driver Sebastian Vettel, four-time world champion, with the German team and Kylian Mbappe with the French team
The three-time Australian champions have unveiled a new identity, as well as two new co-owners - Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds - who driver and CEO Tom Slingsby at the helm of the newly revamped BONDS Flying Roos SailGP team. "We are very excited to embark on this new adventure together. Hugh brings a deep love and pride for his homeland, as well as being an avid sailing fan," the team says.

The entry of both Hollywood actors takes the circuit to another dimension. "Today marks a milestone not only for the Australia SailGP Team, but also for SailGP's global trajectory. We are delighted to officially welcome Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds as co-owners of the new BONDS Flying Roos brand, who bring with them an extraordinary combination of global reach, vision, business acumen and undoubtedly a lot of fun along the way," said Andy Thompson, director of SailGP.
The BONDS Flying Roos SailGP Team will make its official debut under its new name and ownership at the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix from June 7-8. The Australian crew is aiming for victory and to defend its overall lead. Spain is third, just three points behind the team led by Tom Slinsgby.
