Actress Sydney Sweeney has partnered with men's grooming brand Dr. Squatch to release a limited-edition soap bar made from her actual bathwater.
The product, named "Sydney's Bathwater Bliss," contains exfoliating sand, pine bark extract, and scents of Douglas fir and moss. Only 5,000 bars will be available, with 100 fans winning a bar through a giveaway.
A playful response to fan requests
The idea for the soap originated from fan curiosity sparked by a previous Dr. Squatch ad featuring Sweeney in a bathtub. Initially, Sweeney was unaware of the erotic connotations of bathwater but now views the campaign as a humorous and self-empowering response to fan comments.
She described the collaboration as "weird in the best way" and emphasized its purpose to encourage men to switch to natural personal care products.
Dr. Squatch's Vice President of Marketing, John Ludeke, explained that the campaign aims to educate men about the ingredients in their body wash, many of which are synthetic detergents.
The brand's new natural body wash line, which Sweeney promotes, is made with 98% natural ingredients and is free from synthetic cleansers, allergens, sulfates, parabens, and phthalates.

Mixed reactions and marketing impact
The internet's reaction to the unconventional product has been mixed. Some s expressed humor or skepticism, while others praised the creativity and likened it to other celebrity-themed products, such as Gwyneth Paltrow's infamous candle.
Sweeney's role as the "Body Wash Genie" in Dr. Squatch's campaign has garnered attention for its playful and boundary-pushing approach. The campaign aims to disrupt the men's body wash category by promoting natural ingredients and engaging consumers with humor and authenticity.
