Benny Blanco, the celebrated music producer behind hits like "Eastside" and "Señorita," recently found himself in the middle of an amusing mix-up at the Oscars. The official X for The Academy mistakenly shared a photo of Blanco with his fiancée, Selena Gomez, and captioned it "Selena Gomez and Bad Bunny," instead of correctly identifying Blanco.

Rather than taking offense, Blanco was all smiles when the topic came up during his appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. "They did?" Blanco asked, sounding genuinely amused. "I like that! What do you mean? He's so hot! I'll take it," he laughed, clearly flattered by the comparison to the international superstar.

Blanco, 37, continued to show his appreciation for the Puerto Rican artist, commenting, "Look at how pretty he is-are you kidding?" He humorously added, "Yeah, I'm Bad Bunny now," embracing the lighthearted moment.

Blanco and Gomez's collaborative music journey

Blanco's appearance on the show also came on the heels of the release of his collaborative album with Gomez, I Said I Love You First, which dropped on March 21. The album offers fans a unique insight into the couple's personal journey, blending their love story with their creative chemistry.

In an interview for Spotify's Countdown To series, Gomez shared how Blanco had acted as her "personal journal," capturing meaningful lines and moments that would later influence their music. Blanco added, "Sometimes you'd be saying something really important, and I would open my phone and be like, 'F---, that's such a good line for a song.'"

Focus on music over wedding plans

Though they got engaged in December 2024, the couple has remained focused on their music rather than their wedding plans. Blanco jokingly remarked to Rolling Stone, "I think every day she's planned a new wedding in her head," but added, "We're still not over this moment." For Gomez, the music remains their main priority as they continue to pour their hearts into the album.

In a statement, their label described the album as an "organic" creation that reflects their entire relationship, from before they met, to falling in love, and their hopes for the future. The couple's fans can now enjoy an authentic and emotional glimpse into their journey together.
