Pete Davidson has recently itted himself to a wellness facility to address his mental health challenges. This move comes shortly after his breakup with Madelyn Cline, with whom he had been in a relationship for nearly a year.
Davidson, known for his work on Saturday Night Live and his stand-up comedy, has been transparent about his struggles with mental health.
Diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in 2017, he has often spoken about the importance of prioritizing his mental health. According to reports from People, Davidson's current stay at the facility is part of his ongoing effort to manage these conditions.
"Pete will often check himself into rehab to work on these issues," a source told People.
"His friends and family have been ive during this time."
Changed his schedule
As part of his commitment to sobriety and mental health, Davidson had to make adjustments to his professional commitments.
His planned Prehab Tour, which was set to begin on August 9 in Kansas and conclude on October 14 in Texas, has been canceled. The tour included stops in several states, and the cancellations were attributed to "scheduling conflicts." Ticketmaster has assured customers that refunds will be automatically processed for all canceled shows.
Davidson's mental health journey has been public, including his previous stay in rehab in June 2023. During his performances, he has often used humor to discuss his experiences with mental health and drug use, including past use of ketamine.
"I got diagnosed with BPD a few years ago, and I was always just so confused all the time, and just thought something was wrong, and didn't know how to deal with it," he said.
"Then, when somebody finally tells you, the weight of the world feels lifted off your shoulders. You feel so much better."
