Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley, who are best known as stars of their own reality TV Show Chrisley Knows Best have received hefty prison sentences after they were found guilty of committing bank fraud and tax evasion.
Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years behind bars and 16 months probation while his wife Julie was handed a relatively lighter sentence of seven years and 16 months probation.
"The Chrisleys have built an empire based on the lie that their wealth came from dedication and hard work," prosecutors wrote in a sentencing memorandum dated Nov. 16.
"The jury's unanimous verdict sets the record straight: Todd and Julie Chrisley are career swindlers who have made a living by jumping from one fraud scheme to another, lying to banks, stiffing vendors, and evading taxes at every corner."
Following the sentencing the Chrisleys maintained their innocence and petitioned the court for a lighter sentence.
