While it is true that Inter Miami avoided its second consecutive defeat by rescuing a 3-3 draw against Saint Louis City SC, Lionel Messi was the one shining in the game. Chris Durkin opened the scoring for the visitor after 15 minutes of play and 10 minutes later the tie came with a goal from the Argentine star.

Messi cut back and then moved to the right, did not find the space and gave way to the left for Jordi Alba, who returned the ball to him so that he could finish with his left foot in the area and thus the partial score 1-1.

It was in the 41st minute that Indiana Vassilev put St. Louis City SC ahead again, but before the break Uruguayan Luis Suárez made it 2-2 in stoppage time.

Messi, once again, was part of another great play. He shook off the marks from the front, once again extended to the left for Jordi Alba, who crossed to the far post for Luis Suárez to finish cross and into the corner.

Already in the second half, at the 69th minute, Luis Suárez wanted to clear a corner kick from the left with his head but ended up sending it into his net to give St. Louis City the advantage again.

Leo Messi tried once again to help his team. In a desperate attempt, sent the ball to the stands after a couple of rebounds in Inter Miami's insistence on a tie and it finally gave a good result for them.

It was not until the 85th minute that Jordi Alba scored the equalizer in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, although he had to celebrate until after the VAR review due to an apparent offside position that was ultimately confirmed to be non-existent.

Lionel Messi is ready for the Copa America

It was Lionel Messi's last game with Inter Miami before the start of the 2024 Copa América, as he will have to report to the Argentina National Team
