Now, Joshua has recently been defeated by Daniel Dubois in what to many was a surprise, but nonetheless it was a devastating blow to his career. With that said, the amount of hype that fight would get is predicted to go through the roof if it were to happen.
"Do we wait for Tyson Fury (against Oleksandr Usyk)? I think if Tyson Fury loses they (Joshua and Fury) should have two fights and sail off into the sunset," Hearn said to TNT Sports. "If Tyson Fury wins, he defends against AJ for the unified world championship."
The option in the ear future for Antony Joshua
The fights could have a lot of variety for Anthony Joshua, as Eddie Hearn believes that there are many fighters ready to face him but in reality everything falls on the brit at the end.
"(In an ideal world) we feel we should be beating Daniel Dubois and we can beat Daniel Dubois," Hearn said. "But are you ready to go straight back in (like with Andy Ruiz and Oleksandr Usyk)? We have that option under that contract and I know his excellency wants that, probably February time, but is that too early?"
There is nothing scheduled yet but Joshua is ready to get back to the ring despite his lates loss, and Hearn knows it must happen fast considering the way he was overpowered by Dubois. "Let's give a minute to say how good Daniel Dubois was. He did everything they planned to do and AJ did nothing they planned to do," he said, recognizing Dubois job.
