Jake Paul may be a professional boxer now, but deep down he's still a prankster. Before his high-stakes bout against Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship superstar Mike Perry on July 20, Paul pulled a classic prank, posing as a boxing journalist in a phone call to Perry.

The fighters exchanged heated words during the call, unbeknownst to Mike that it was a joke. He predicted the round in which he would knock Paul out; immediately after, the YouTuber asked a provocative question that unleashed the wrath of the martial arts fighter.

There is no doubt that Jake takes perfect advantage of his prankster essence to generate greater anticipation for the fight, provoking the wrath of his next opponent in the ring.

Jake Paul has begun his mental war against Mike Perry

Paul was originally going to fight Mike Tyson in a highly anticipated Netflix event. However, that bout was postponed to November 15 due to 'Iron Mike' suffering from a serious ulcer flare-up. So Mike Perry stepped up to face Jake in the ring in what promises to be one of the YouTuber-turned-boxer's toughest bouts to date.

Just days before their eight-round cruiserweight bout, Paul turned up the heat and called Perry posing as a boxing journalist to ask for a pre-fight interview.

Jake's prank call to Perry achieved its purpose, not just to piss him off but to get the truth out of him before the fight.

"Hey, Mike. I'm Dan Rafael from ESPN," Paul said in the video. "Malki [Perry's manager] gave me your number for a big story we're doing for ESPN. I just have two questions for you. First, do you have a prediction on what round or when you're going to stop Jake Paul?"

Not knowing he was being pranked, Perry confidently predicted that he would stop Paul in the seventh round.

"I'd say round seven, but I may take him out sooner. He thinks it's going to be a short fight, but I'm planning on a long, entertaining night..."

Jake Paul has a 5-0 record against former world champions like Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley (twice), as well as Ben Askren. His most recent win came against Nate Diaz last August, bringing his record to 9-1 with successive victories over professional boxers.

In contrast, Mike Perry has a record of 0-1 in traditional boxing, but a perfect 5-0 in bare-knuckle boxing (BKFC). Perry has had significant success in BKFC, with wins over former UFC champions Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez, both of whom he retired in two rounds.

As the fight date approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating what promises to be an intense and unpredictable showdown between Jake Paul and Mike Perry.
