- WNBA. Caitlin Clark roasts teammate online, gets a savage comeback from Lexie Hull
- WNBA. Caitlin Clark and the Fever still out of sync as they prepare to face Angel Reese without key players and coach Stephanie White
The news that no WNBA fan wanted to hear has finally been confirmed: Indiana Fever will not have Caitlin Clark in the match against Angel Reese and Chicago Sky.
The possibility of seeing Clark vs. Reese live was something that excited their fans, as in the first matchup between the two teams, Clark and the Fever crushed the Sky 93-58 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Ahead of the second matchup between the Fever and Sky of the season and the great anticipation, the matchup changed locations and moved from Wintrust Arena to United Center, the largest arena in the NBA with a capacity of 10,500 people.
Despite this, Clark will watch the game from the bench as she continues to recover from a strained left quadriceps she suffered on May 24 against the New York Liberty. As if that weren't enough, Stephanie White, the Fever's head coach, will not be present for personal reasons. In her place, assistant coach Austin Kelly will be coaching Indiana.
Caitlin's new job
During the preview, however, legendary basketball coach Dawn Staley assured that she will remain focused on CC during Fever-Sky: "I'll be locked in on Caitlin Clark as assistant coach. Animated Caitlin Clark assistant. She's probably going to be saying, 'Give Aliyah [Boston] the ball,'" she said.
This new title for the 23-year-old star comes after Clark was sidelined for two games and is expected to miss another two, marking the first time in her college and professional career that she has missed games.
Chicago, meanwhile, has lost its first four games of the season and has only tasted victory twice, both against the Dallas Wings. Will CC bring her new title as assistant coach to bear against Sky and other teams?
