Griner was the one who led her team to the top, getting her first win of the 2025 WNBA season and contributing 21 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. She also picked up her first win over Caitlin Clark (0-4), a feat she had not accomplished since CC ed the WNBA. However, Atalanta had to finish the game without her.

Despite Griner's numbers, the one who got the looks was also her teammate, Brionna Jones, who tallied 19 points, 13 rebounds and locked up and prevented Aliyah Boston from being able to snatch the win out of her hands on the last play of the game.

For Indiana, DeWanna Bonner moved up to eighth on the league's all-time rebounding list with 3070, ing Tina Thompson with her first rebound of the game. This accomplishment comes on the heels of becoming the third-leading scorer in WNBA history during the Fever's season opener against Angel Reese's Chicago Sky.

For her part, Clark scored 27 points, five rebounds and 11 assists. In doing so, she becomes the first player in WNBA history to open the season with +20 points and +10 consecutive assists.

Now, Caitlin and Fever will have a chance for a rematch on Thursday, facing Atlanta Dream again. Will Griner put her hand in the cookie jar?
