Whether everyone inside the WNBA circle is ready to it it or not, Caitlin Clark is a full-blown superstar. On a recent episode of his popular Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast, comedian Shane Gillis shared a moment that left him genuinely stunned.

"I just added a third to the people that have stunned me... Caitlin Clark, dude. Caitlin Clark was at the show," Gillis said, while chatting with co-host Matt McCusker. "Before the show, we were in Indianapolis on Saturday, and we were like, 'This is the house Caitlin Clark built,' talking about the Pacers building."

Gillis explained that while eating lunch earlier that day, they joked about how cool it would be if Clark attended the show. Then, hours later, it actually happened.

"I was pacing back and forth between the show and green room, and then Caitlin Clark walked by," Gillis recalled. "Then I was like, 'Do you want to hang out in the green room?' And she was like, 'Yeah, sure.'"

From hardwood hero to mainstream icon

That's a telling moment coming from Gillis, a comic who's been around Hollywood heavyweights and high-level athletes alike.

He's gone toe-to-toe with Nick Saban on ESPN's College GameDay, but it's Clark who left him speechless. That's the kind of rare, magnetic star power Clark carries-and it's exactly what makes her a generational talent, on and off the court.

Clark, now entering the WNBA after a record-shattering career at Iowa, has captured the hearts of fans everywhere. From kids in gymnasiums to celebrities in green rooms, she's earned iration far beyond the typical reach of a basketball player. And yet, within the WNBA, there are signs of hesitation when it comes to fully embracing what Clark brings-not just in skills, but in spotlight.
