Caitlin Clark makes a complicated pact with Stephanie White to fix what she hates most about herself

Caitlin Clark reveals she aims to avoid committing so many technical fouls in the 2025 WNBA season to make sure she's completely available for the Indiana Fever, after finishing the last season one foul short of a match ban.

The WNBA limit is seven technical fouls committed before a player is forced to miss out, and the 23-year-old Rookie of the Year came close to hitting that mark. So her offending is something she and Stephanie White, her new coach, aim to slice down.

However, fans aren't too convinced it's something the ex-Iowa Hawkeye can actually do thanks to her tenacity on the court preceding her as she targets committing no more than two technical fouls.

"I already told Steph two max," Clark said to Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird on ESPN's coverage of the NCAA Championship Game between the South Carolina Gamecocks and UConn Huskies. Fans wasted no time heading online to react.

One posted to X.com, formerly Twitter, "I love it when Caitlin sets impossibly lofty goals for herself."

A second said, "She is getting suspended."

And a third commented, "Ain't no way she's only getting 2."

When is the Fever's first WNBA game of 2025?

Clark comes into the season right off of the back of an impressive debut that saw her average 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game, despite a slow start to life in the WNBA.

She led to the Fever to the WNBA Playoffs for the first time since 2015 as they took on the Connecticut Sun, then headed by White, but ultimately slipped to a 2-0 series defeat in the First Round.

The Fever will bid for their first championship since that 2015 season with some fresh faces on the roster and Clark leading things on court under White's guidance, and they will take on the Chicago Sky on May 17.
