Chennedy Carter's overseas success poses a challenge for Chicago Sky negotiations but her words don't help

Carter's playing style, which relies heavily on mid-range shots and aggressive drives to the basket, has led to her impressive scoring statistics. Last season, she posted a career-best field goal percentage of 48.7%.

Despite this, her limited 3-point shooting accuracy only at 25% could conflict with the Sky's strategic vision for the next season, as newly appointed head coach Tyler Marsh emphasizes the importance of bolstering the team's 3-point shooting capabilities.

Uncertainty for the season

There is mutual interest between Chennedy Carter and the Chicago Sky, however, her recent comments about her previous teams suggest potential differences in expectations. She has openly expressed frustration about not being utilized to her full potential in the past, raising concerns about how she might fit into the Sky's game plan.

Russell Westbrook recently made a remark during a post-game interview, stating he was not provided the opportunity to put his skills to use with the Denver Nuggets. "To be honest, (my skill-set) was unique, they just didn't put me in position to be unique. I was in a position where I was playing not my position," he said. Chennedy Carter took to X to respond with the post. "ngl I felt this !!!! lol," she wrote.

As the Sky navigate this critical phase of the offseason, they must carefully evaluate the benefits of retaining a high-scoring talent like Carter against the necessity of aligning their roster with their strategic goals but her words might no help for a possible negotiation.
