Angel Reese found herself nearly at a loss for words as U.S. presidential election results pointed to Donald Trump nearing victory. The Chicago Sky star took to X to express her stunned reaction. "Woke up speechless..." she wrote.
With Trump edging closer to the White House, holding a 267-224 lead over Kamala Harris according to the latest AP updates, Reese's reaction was shared among many fans.
"So we're all up at three in the morning thinking the same thing," a fan wrote.
Another added: "I'm trying to find the words for my kids in the morning."
Didn't endorse either candidate
As election results continue to develop, Reese's initial response has resonated with her followers, who are waiting to see if she'll share more reactions as the night progresses.
Earlier in the election cycle, she had actively encouraged people to vote, emphasizing its importance.
When asked about the race earlier this year, Reese, who had previously met Harris, didn't endorse either candidate, choosing instead to focus on urging voter turnout.
"I haven't been able to tap a lot into the political election so, I'm not that educated right now, but [I] just continue to learn," she said at the time.
"Everybody go out there and vote. I commend that, and I just tell a lot of people to go out there and vote because we need it for this election."
Meanwhile, other prominent athletes such as LeBron James and Steph Curry openly ed Harris. Curry, in a past interview, explained his endorsement, citing Harris's for women's rights as a key reason for his choice.
