Dealing with the pressures and the trappings of fame is not for everyone, but Angel Reese has boiled it down to a science. Reese, the new star forward for the WNBA's Chicago Sky, is part of a wave of young talent entering the league that is turning women's basketball upside down and forcing their way into the American cultural consciousness. Reese has risen above social media abuse and even death threats to continue growing as a player, and many are excited to see her at the next level.

It speaks to Reese's fame -- and the increased coverage of and respect for women's basketball in the United States -- that she was recently a clue on one of the country's most popular game shows, demonstrating that her on-court talent has transcended into popular culture.

Reese became a clue on "Jeopardy!"

On the latest episode of "Jeopardy Masters," which aired Monday night, host Ken Jennings read a clue about an LSU star who used a "Vogue" photo shoot to declare for the WNBA draft earlier this year -- after grabbing 20 rebounds against Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes in an NCAA Tournament loss.

The answer -- in the form of a question, as is "Jeopardy!" tradition -- was "who is Angel Reese?" And eagle-eyed viewers immediately took to social media to celebrate that a women's basketball player had gained enough cultural relevance to be a clue on this long-running game show.

Reese herself did not directly chime in, but she retweeted multiple posts on X (formerly Twitter) in acknowledgement of the cool moment. The 22-year-old is hard at work preparing for her WNBA debut on Wednesday night, when the Sky open the 2024 season against the Dallas Wings.
