The debut season of Unrivaled Basketball League has taken its 3x3 basketball format a step further with the introduction of a 1-on-1 tournament, offering players the opportunity to showcase their skills in individual matchups. This innovative event aims to highlight the talent and competitiveness of the athletes, delivering a high-level spectacle for basketball fans.
With an attractive prize at stake, the tournament has generated great excitement and promises intense battles between some of the league's best players.
What is Unrivaled's 1-on-1 Tournament?
The tournament, held in Miami, takes place over three nights of competition and serves as a lead-up event to the NBA All-Star Weekend. Players are competing for a $350,000 prize pool, with $200,000 awarded to the winner, $50,000 to the runner-up, and $25,000 to each semifinalist. The remaining prize money is distributed among the champion's Unrivaled regular-season teammates.
Format and Rules
The tournament features a 32-slot bracket split into four quadrants, with 30 players competing and the top two seeds receiving a bye into the second round. The game format is simple and exciting:
- A three-point shot determines the first possession.
- Field goals inside the arc count for 2 points, while three-pointers are worth 3.
- The first player to reach 11 points wins, unless the 10-minute game clock expires, in which case the player with the most points wins.
- A 7-second shot clock ensures a fast-paced game.
