Kevin Durant turned a lot of heads Friday night when he was in attendance for the Golden State Valkyries against the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena.
Golden State beat LA 82-73, avenging a loss earlier this week at home. French guard Carla Leite scored 19 points, along with three assists and two rebounds to help the Valkyries secure the win.
Forward Dearica Hamby scored 25 points for the Sparks, along with six rebounds and two assists, which wasn't enough for a franchise that started the 2025 regular season on the wrong foot, as they currently hold a terrible 1-3 record. Young star Cameron Brink is still recovering from a torn ACL, so the team will have to rely on their current roster in order to find some success.
Kevin Durant gets roasted
Kevin Durant was sitting courtside for the action, something that took the NBA and WNBA fans by surprise, as the current Phoenix Suns guard is in the middle of trading rumors. The All-Star player has a no-trade clause, which will be a nightmare for his current team if they want to move away from him.
"KD, you're supposed to be in the Finals," posted an Instagram . "He look confused," and "He don't know a single name," added some IG s. Other people hope that Durant's visit to Los Angeles means that he will be willing to be traded to the Lakers so that he can team up with LeBron James, Luka Doncic and the rest of the squad on the quest for a last championship.
Kevin did have some time to greet Belgian guard Julie Vanloo, who mentioned publicly that she wears No. 35 as an homage to Durant. "What's up, baby, how is it going?" said the NBA player as he greeted her fan. After sharing a brief conversation, the former Texas Longhorns standout promised Vanloo that he would come back to see her for another game in California.
Durant's next team in the NBA is a mistery
Kevin Durant has played 16 seasons in the NBA, capturing two championships - both with the Golden State Warriors alongside Stephen Curry,Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green - despite being one of the greatest shooters in the league, and a dominant force in the court that's unstoppable.
Some NBA analysts believe that KD could come back to the Warriors to give Curry and Green a final shot at a Larry O'Brien Trophy, which will be a great way to end his career. Warriors fans absolutely love Durant, so it sounds like a no brainer to go back to his second home.
However, fans believe that Kevin is going to LeBron, Luka, and the Showtime Lakers to help one of the greatest players of all time get a fifth championship. It also would not be a surprise if Durant goes back to Phoenix in pursue of some playoffs success with the Suns.
