The loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves not only knocked the Los Angeles Lakers out of Game 5 of the Playoffs, but also gave LeBron James a big scare.

During the final quarter of the game, James collided with Donte DiVincenzo. Although he instantly knew he was not feeling well, he continued to play and finished the face-off. Despite this, LBJ couldn't prevent the Lakers from being eliminated. And his problems wouldn't end there.

Although he expected to have a medical checkup a few days after the game, his pain spoke louder. Speaking to "Mind The Game," LeBron explained that the pain was too intense and he couldn't wait to be seen:

This is Wednesday night after the game, and I said, you know, 'if I wake up Thursday morning and it's feeling and it didn't feel any better than, you know, Friday morning, let's get an MRI Friday morning.' Well, when I woke up Thursday morning and tried to get out of bed, I was like, 'holy s**t', and I called Doc right away. I said, 'I can't wait till Friday'.

What the MRI revealed

After undergoing tests, it was revealed that LeBron suffered a medial collateral ligament sprain when he collided knees with DiVincenzo.

According to doctors, it would take four to six weeks for King James to fully recover. Thus, had his team won Game 5 and extended the series, he would have been out for much of the postseason.

Is it time for him to retire?

After the crushing blow of the loss, LeBron itted that he still has "no answer" for that his retirement. Although he sounded hesitant, the team and fans are optimistic that he will at least stay on the court for one more season.

After a 22-year career, Akron Hammer has nothing left to prove and is ready to rest and recover from his injury. He is still a great competitor and a tough opponent to face, so it wouldn't be surprising if we see him again as Luka Doncic's partner. However, we will have to wait and see what King James decides.
