Los Angeles Lakers player LeBron James did not attend the 2025 Met Gala due to a knee injury suffered in his last game, which knocked him out of the NBA playoffs.
"Unfortunately, due to my knee injury at the end of the season, I will not be able to attend the Met Gala in NY tonight, as so many people have been asking and congratulating me! I hate to miss a historic event! My beautiful, powerful queen will be there holding down the fort as she always has!" LeBron wrote on his X this morning.
But... his wife, Savannah, was there and stole the spotlight in her 2025 Met Gala debut. The businesswoman made her presence felt on the red carpet in a spectacular Hanifa gown, making it clear that her influence in fashion is no accident, but the result of authentic style and her own vision, which was no surprise given her style.
The outfit was crazy with an unexpected combination: an intense burgundy that screamed power, a pinstriped jacket with architectural details, and a mermaid skirt that looked sculpted. She wasn't just wearing fashion, she was elegantly embodying it.

He is clearly returning the his wife gave him during the Lakers' disappointing season, and boy did he need it. Even though things didn't turn out the way he wanted, Bronny James was the target of criticism and LeBron had to stand up for his son like the great father who loves his child.
