NBA legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson and Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka attended Kobe Bryant's statue unveiling at Crypto Arena on Thursday and did not say a word when they walked past each other.
Johnson, 64, very publicly blamed Pelinka for his exit from the Lakers a few years ago and the beef between the two men is clearly still ongoing, especially amid the team's struggles.
Pelinka, 54, did not make any moves prior to the NBA trade deadline despite the Lakers boasting a 27-25 record and struggling to stay above .500 for most of the season.
Lakers fans are now calling for the return of Johnson and firing of Pelinka, who was Bryant's longtime agent.
Magic Johnson praises other GMs
Johnson has spent the past day tweeting out praise for several general managers across the league who made trades that benefit their respective teams.
Many believe Magic is subtly taking a jab at Pelinka for his lack of moves. Lakers will now focus on the buyout market to search for a third scoring option.
Lakers host the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night in what will surely be an emotional night for players and fans of the Purple & Gold alike.
