The Indiana Pacers managed to steal Game 1 of the 2025 NBA Finals with an incredible last-second shot by Tyrese Haliburton, but the Oklahoma City Thunder responded with a commanding 123-107 win in Game 2 to tie the series 1-1.

Now, the NBA Finals series shifts to Indiana, where fans have waited over 25 years for a return to the league's biggest stage - setting up what promises to be an electrifying atmosphere at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. But before the lights shine bright in Indy, the Pacers know it's time to recover, regroup, and refocus.

Pacers Prepare for Game 3 of the NBA Finals

Bennedict Mathurin was visibly frustrated after the Game 2 loss. While stealing one road win in Oklahoma City is a major accomplishment, Mathurin wanted more.

"We came here trying to win both games. Unfortunately, we only won one. Our focus is now on the next game," he said postgame.

"Our main focus is to watch a lot of film and take care of our bodies. It's all about being ready for the next game - that's the message," he added, emphasizing the importance of preparation ahead of a pivotal Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

Mathurin also highlighted the excitement of returning home and the impact Pacers fans can make in this historic moment.

"For sure, it's gonna be fun," he said. "We're definitely gonna need the fans to be present - they're gonna have an impact on our game, for sure."

Aaron Nesmith echoed the sentiment, acknowledging the city's 25-year wait and stressing what needs to improve on the court.

"They've been waiting for 25 years, so it's exciting to be back and see what the atmosphere is gonna be like," Nesmith said. "They did a good job in the paint - we didn't. We have to be better, and we will."
