Stephen Curry and Steve Kerr, key figures of the Golden State Warriors, demonstrated a clear and pragmatic focus after Donald Trump's electoral victory over Kamala Harris in the recent elections.
Despite their vocal for Harris during the campaign, both team leaders chose to focus on what they could control: their performance on the court. According to second-year guard Brandin Podziemski, who shared his thoughts in an exclusive interview with Fox News, after Harris's defeat, Curry and Kerr made a point of staying focused on the game against the Boston Celtics.
"We were in Boston and our focus was beating the Celtics," Podziemski explained.
"Whoever was elected, we're going to have to deal with it anyway, so Steve and Steph made it a point to stay focused on the game because that's all we could control."
Despite the diversity of opinions, the Warriors remain united
Although the Warriors' locker room reflected a diversity of opinions on the election results, there were very few discussions about politics.
"Everybody has their own opinions and beliefs, and I don't think, no matter what you believe in, it's going to change anything in of relationships with our guys," Podziemski added. "We just focused on what was in front of us."
Curry congratulates Donald Trump on his victory
Despite their disappointment over Harris's loss, both Curry and Kerr congratulated Trump on his victory.
Curry, for example, commented after the Celtics game: "It's a situation where Trump won. Congratulate them on a hard-fought campaign. What this country is supposed to be about is everybody ing each other... That's my hope."
However, he made it clear that he held no grudges and that his focus was on the future. "I want these next four years to go well for everyone. We want ability on that front, too."
Regarding his career, Curry remains focused on his goal of winning a fifth NBA championship. At 36 years old, he knows his time in the league is limited.
Podziemski, who has had several conversations about this topic with Curry, stated: "He only has a few years left, he knows that, so he wants to get ring number five."
Meanwhile, the young player has started following the example of other Warriors veterans like Kevon Looney by g a sponsorship deal with Invisalign.
