Gilbert Arenas has unleashed some fierce criticism of Draymond Green and believes that his form has cost the Golden State Warriors three championship rings.
The Warriors have won seven championships over the years and 2016-2019 was a real golden spell for them, but Arenas thinks that it could have been a lot better.
The former NBA player thinks that the Warriors should have kept Kevin Durant and traded Green instead of the other way around.
A tough assessment
As Kenyon Martin tossed the question on the Gills' Arena Podcast, Agent Zero responded: "You know, you move Draymond Green out and you keep KD and it's been KD Klay and Steph this whole time. You know who more they have two more, maybe even three depending on you know what other pieces they put around, so, so yes, yeah."
"Because you can't count on them. So yeah, it would have been it would have been smarter because you can't replace like, I know you can't replace what Draymond brings to that team, but you can't replace someone like Kevin to be a good teammate and be a franchise guy," Arenas said.
The Warriors won the championship in 2017 and 2018 but they then fell short in the following season despite many expecting them to make it three on the bounce.
It is fair to say that Durant took the team to a new level and really raised the profile, making previously tough-looking matchups become a formality.
