The Denver Nuggets achieved a hard-fought 124-122 home victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, handing them their first NBA defeat of the season after seven consecutive victories.
It was 22-year-old Peyton Watson who was the hero of the Nuggets' victory with a block on Shai Gilgeous Alexander in the last play of the game.
Watson went from villain to hero in a matter of seconds, as he made the block after missing two free throws that could have cost the Nuggets.
The 2023 NBA champions picked up their third consecutive victory and have a 5-3 record.
Serbian Nikola Jokic signed a monumental triple-double of 23 points, 19 rebounds and 16 assists, ed by Russell Westbrook's 29 points and 24 from Christian Braun and Michael Porter Jr, who hit six three-pointers.
The Thunder fell despite 28 points from Shai Gilgeous Alexander and 29 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists from Jaylen Williams, who also added three steals.
