Tatum, 25, struggled down the final stretch of Game 1, but finished the contest with 30 points on 9-for-17 shooting from the field and 1-for-3 from beyond the arc.

The issue seems to be that Tatum is dribbling too much before shooting and should instead stick to a couple quick moves before getting to his spot.

Butler, 33, is doing just that, picking the defense apart with simplicity, sticking to the basics. He put up 35 points while shooting an overall 12-for-25 from the floor and 2-for-4 from deep.

"Playoff Jimmy" added six steals to his tally, an incredible defensive performance by the basketball virtuoso. If he can manage to give Miami a 2-0 lead ahead of Game 3, this series could reach its end.

Butler, as good as he's been, has received plenty of help from his co-stars, including Bam Adebayo, Gabe Vincent, Caleb Martin, Kyle Lowry and Max Strus, who managed to lock up Tatum on the defensive end in the final frame.

As for Tatum, his only help offensively comes from Jaylen Brown, but the rest of the starters need to step it up against a tough Miami defense. Malcolm Brogdon, meanwhile, is a spark off the bench for the Celtics and continues to prove why he won the Sixth Man of the Year award.
